Profoto has announced the successor to their popular B1 battery powered location flash. The new B1X has a brighter LED modeling light, higher capacity battery and an extended HSS power range.
With the new HSS power range, you can sync the flash with your camera throughout the entire 9-stop range. This is a newly developed feature that can be enabled in existing B1 units by a downloadable firmware available today!

New OCF Zoom and Magnum Reflectors
Profoto has also announced the availability of two new OCF reflectors.
The OCF Zoom Reflector doubles the effective light output at two meters range, while the slightly larger OCF Magnum Reflector adds even more effective power output making it perfect for throwing light over long distances without being overpowered by natural light – and both are compact and lightweight.
The OCF Zoom Reflector is so portable it even fits into the B1 case while mounted on the B1 or B1X – making it a handy timesaver when packing up. Despite this remarkably compact size it adds up to 1.2 f-stop of effective light output at two meters range!
The slightly larger OCF Magnum Reflector adds almost 2 f-stops effective light output making it perfect for throwing light over long distances without being overpowered by natural light. It is not compact enough to fit into the B1 cases but comes delivered in its own protective case.
Both reflectors also offer a wide beam angle adjustment range that extends light shaping opportunities further.
